Mini-Conference

It's time to get together!

In August 2022 the Diocese of the Southern Cross was launched and its first church welcomed.  Now in 2024 we have seven member churches with four additional satellite congregations.  It is time to come together and rejoice.  It is also time to move beyond the lifeboat.  When the Diocese was first envisaged back in 2020 it was described as a lifeboat for faithful Anglican churches. But it has become more than that.

So, it is time for us to look forward to what God is calling us to, not just back at where he was calling us from.

The conference will include opportunities to eat together, to sing together, to pray together, to celebrate what God has been doing in our churches and to take part in the shaping of a vision for the Diocese of the Southern Cross.  Don’t miss out!

The Speakers

The Rev Dr Andrew Katay

Andrew is the Executive of Content and Ministry for City to City Australia, a church planting and leadership development agency linked to Tim Keller and Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York. This role enables him to work across denominational boundaries to be part of seeing a Gospel movement take hold of cities across Australia, which is a driving passion for Andrew. Andrew is also the Senior Minister of Christ Church Inner West, a multi-site church in Sydney's Inner West, where he commenced over ten years ago. He has considerable experience in university ministries and has served as Chaplain to Sydney University and regularly contributes to conversations on theology, culture and the church across various media platforms and publications.   He is married to Catriona and they have three adult children. The things that animate Andrew are sharing the Gospel, seeing God’s grace at work in the community of the Church as well as in the wider community through cultural renewal, and when he has time, a decent game of golf

The Rt Rev Dr Glenn Davies

Bishop Glenn Davies has served as a lecturer of Moore College, rector of Miranda, and Bishop of North Sydney, before becoming Archbishop of Sydney in 2013. He came out of retirement in 2022 to lead the Diocese of the Southern Cross as its initial Bishop.
